As most of you are now aware, our quiet little family of four (excluding LOUD Boston, of course) will be adding a new member in roughly 7 months. Yep, Tyler and I have successfully placed a bun in the oven, and we're quite happy about it. We found out on November 14th and have been in a state of shock and awe for the past few weeks. However, the trip to the doctor yesterday did confirm that the two pink lines on the 4 pregnancy tests were right, and the baby in my belly is sputtering along fine.
In order to pinpoint a somewhat accurate due date, Dr. Engelbrecht (pronounced eeenglebright) sent us over to the Lakeside imaging center to have a super-early ultrasound. I felt a little goofy getting an ultrasound this soon, but it was neat to get to see Little Bean and his/her yolk sack at such an early stage. Though I wish someone would've warned me of the "yolk sack" thing, then my initial thought of "OH crap, there's two already!", would not have been. Regardless, the Bean's heartrate was 136 beats per minute and it had a healthy yolk sack to feed from. Both good things, I learned. We also learned that we're only about 7 weeks along, which means we're not in the clear yet. But I'm hoping the 5-6 meals a day and minimum of 10 hours of sleep per night will keep the Bean chugging along nicely.
Since we are so early in the pregnancy, we're trying to not shout the news from a mountain top, but it's been difficult. In small town Western Oklahoma it's hard to keep such news under-wraps for very long. People here have nothing better to do than spread the word I guess. But, we would like to ask you all to try and keep it on somewhat of the DL for at least a few more weeks. Then you're welcome to join our mountain top and shout with us.
Until Aubrey shows me how to do otherwise, just click the link below to see our first pictures.
